**Sunrise Elementary, North Valley Elementary, Loma Linda Elementary, and Desert View Elementary**
You are not seeing things, it is two creatures named Snargg and Plory. They are visiting to celebrate five of our schools for high gains in math scores! Snargg and Plory have been the online guides for the students in the "Iready" math program. Snargg and Plory visited schools that have demonstrated over 1 year of expected growth (average across the school). Meaning the 5 schools demonstrated large amounts of growth from the beginning of year window to middle of year instructional window!
Sunrise Elementary's math scores had extremely high growth and received the first visit but there were also visits at North Valley, Loma Linda, Riverside, and Desert View.
The Children Youth and Families Department (CYFD) has recently started a new hotline called Reach NM. Reach NM (505) 591-9444, is a text-based hotline which was started to help youth, families, and professionals within the community connect with a CYFD advocate to report child abuse or neglect, refer youth and families to needed community services, and anyone can reach out 24/7 to chat about any struggles they may be facing. Our text advocates are trained to chat with texters who may be overwhelmed by depression/suicide, body image, bullying, unhealthy or unsafe relationships, homelessness, and peer pressure. I have attached our flyer here.
Reach NM also serves as an available method for teachers or school staff who may need to report an incident of child abuse or neglect and would like to do so via text.
He adjuntado nuestro folleto aquí.
